Original mid-19th century uncut sheet of three unused checks from the Mechanics’ Bank of New York, printed by Van Norden & Amerman lithographers at 60 Wall Street. The sheet displays three identical check forms in vertical arrangement, each with the vignette of an arm holding a hammer within a laurel wreath. Printed on pale blue paper, this is an obsolete financial document from the 1850s that reflects the banking and commercial history of New York City. Uncut sheets are scarcer than single checks and highly desirable for collectors of antique bank ephemera.
