This 1883 theatrical booking letter is written on the ornate printed letterhead for the play “New York After Dark,” a powerful scenic drama that featured new local scenery of the Brooklyn Bridge, Brighton Race Course, Manhattan Beach, Fulton Market, and Grand Union Hotel. The letter, dated July 9, 1883, is signed by W.H. Howard, Agent, requesting available December dates for the show. The verso notes the reply.
