This lot includes five vintage Japanese hana-buton, or decorative button covers, dating to c.1950s. Each brass piece is shaped as a five-petal cherry blossom (sakura), traditionally used to adorn kimono or haori garments. The gold-toned surface features fine petal texturing and a recessed center. Each measures approximately 1″ in diameter with an inset slot-type fitting on the reverse. These display beautiful patina from age and use and represent postwar mid-century Japanese craftsmanship at its finest.
