Description
Vintage c.1940s luggage label from the Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C., featuring an embossed gold crest with the hotel name and a rich green scalloped border with gilt lettering. The Carlton opened in 1926 as one of Washingtonās luxury hotels, later becoming the St. Regis, and labels like this were once affixed to trunks and suitcases as symbols of prestige travel. A fine example of mid-20th century American hotel ephemera with embossed and metallic elements.
