Original U.S. Army general service uniform button dating from 1877 to 1893, manufactured by Horstmann Bros & Co. of Philadelphia. Features the raised Great Seal eagle on the front and a clearly stamped backmark: HORSTMANN BROS & CO. PHILA.
Button is 18mm in diameter and constructed of gilt brass with a two-piece design and loop shank. This type was standard issue on U.S. military coats during the post-Civil War period and into the Indian Wars era.
Well-preserved with strong detail and light surface wear consistent with age. A fine example for collectors of 19th-century military buttons, insignia, or antique Horstmann militaria.
This vintage button is in very good condition with wear appropriate to its age. Please review the included photos of the actual item to make a complete determination of its condition.
All items ship from the U.S. within 1–2 business days, packed for protection.
