Original Civil War era US Navy officer’s button manufactured by the Waterbury Button Co. of Connecticut. This two-piece gilt brass button features a spread-wing eagle perched over an anchor with surrounding stars. The backmark reads * WATERBURY BUTTON CO. * with stars. Measuring 24mm in diameter, it retains good detail with light wear consistent with age.
