This lot includes two 1906 letters from The Keeney Stock Company of Aberdeen, South Dakota, addressed to N.E. Perkins of Sturgis. Both relate to scheduling and publicity for upcoming theatrical performances in Sturgis. The earlier letter, dated February 1, 1906, asks about the availability of the week of November 12 for a Keeney troupe engagement. The later letter, dated November 5, 1906, is from agent Charles B. Ayres, enclosing press notices and encouraging Perkins to promote the show locally. Each letter is on a distinct Keeney letterhead—one referencing “The Hand of Man” and the other “The Keeney Enterprises.” Both measure approximately 11″ tall by 8.5″ wide and retain period toning and fold marks consistent with age.
