This original c.1890 letterhead from George E. Hayden, Theatrical Costumer, Boston, Massachusetts, features a detailed engraved vignette of a costumed figure within a theatrical setting. The letter, written on the company’s stationery, is a personal note from “Frank” to his father mentioning Thanksgiving Day, Western Fever, and his desire to reach Longmont, Colorado. The piece offers a glimpse into late 19th-century life and travel ambitions, combined with ornate advertising for Hayden’s costuming business, which supplied theatrical goods, society regalia, lodge paraphernalia, banners, and badges. The sheet measures approximately 9.5″ by 6″ and is written in ink on one side, with address notation on the reverse.
