Original 19th-century land survey diagram showing a parcel in South Abington, Massachusetts (now Whitman), located adjacent to the depot land of the Old Colony & Fall River Railroad. The diagram is titled “Plan of Benjᶰ. Hobart’s Land Sold to William L. Reed” and includes compass bearings, dimensions, and square footage totaling 14,266.5 square feet.
An embossed municipal seal in the upper right corner reads “Town of Abington – Incorporated 1712,” indicating that this document was officially filed or certified by the town. The parcel lies along South Avenue and would have held strategic value due to its proximity to the depot. Both Hobart and Reed were known landholders in Plymouth County.
The document is approximately 9.5″ tall by 8″ wide. It will be shipped folded as it was found.
This antique diagram is in good condition. It has age-related issues such as creases, stains, smudges, toning, and pencil notations, but no tears. Please review the included photos of the actual item to make a complete determination of its condition.
