Description
Original World War II OPA red point ration token issued by the U.S. Office of Price Administration during the early 1940s. These tokens were distributed as change for ration coupons on the American homefront and represent one of the most recognizable symbols of wartime resource control. The red fiber tokens were used for meats and fats, while blue points covered processed foods.
This example bears the rare “MV” die-letter combination — a variety missing from most collections and recognized as one of the hardest red OPA types to obtain. This one shows excellent color and clearly defined lettering on both sides, making it a strong candidate for serious WWII exonumia collectors.
