Original circa 1911 Pan Handle Scrap Men of History 2nd Series tobacco card featuring Wendell Phillips, identified on the front as the Abolitionist-Orator. This early American Tobacco Company non-sport issue combines portraiture, biography, and tobacco advertising, making it a solid crossover piece for collectors of vintage tobacco cards, communications history, and historical figure memorabilia.
NOTE: This is one of the best condition cards in this set that I have seen. It has been kept in a shoebox since the early 1900s when it was first collected.
