She became a major star in the 1930s and 1940s and is remembered as one of the most iconic figures of Hollywood’s Golden Age. Dietrich’s breakthrough role came in The Blue Angel (1930), directed by Josef von Sternberg, where she played the cabaret singer Lola-Lola, seducing audiences with her sultry rendition of “Falling in Love Again.” Her portrayal catapulted her to international stardom, and she soon moved to Hollywood, where she became known for her femme fatale roles and sophisticated persona.
