Basia, whose full name is Barbara Trzetrzelewska, is a Polish-born singer, songwriter, and producer who gained international recognition for her smooth jazz and pop-infused music. Emerging as a solo artist in the late 1980s, Basia had previously been a member of the band Matt Bianco. Her distinctive voice, combined with a blend of jazz, Latin, and pop influences, led to the creation of her signature sound. Hits like “Time and Tide” and “Cruising for Bruising” showcased her melodic sensibilities and catchy hooks.
