Bobby Durham was an American country musician associated with the Bakersfield Sound, a distinctive subgenre of country music originating from Bakersfield, California. While not as widely recognized as some other Bakersfield Sound pioneers like Merle Haggard or Buck Owens, Durham made notable contributions to the movement. He played steel guitar, a hallmark instrument of the Bakersfield Sound, and was known for his work as a session musician. His steel guitar added a twangy and honky-tonk flavor to numerous country recordings during the 1960s and 1970s, helping shape the signature sound of Bakersfield country music during its heyday.
