Description

Kaoma was a French-Brazilian pop group that gained international fame in the late 1980s with their infectious hit “Lambada.” Formed in France in 1989, the group was led by Brazilian vocalist Loalwa Braz. Their music was characterized by a blend of Lambada, a traditional Brazilian dance, with pop and Latin influences. “Lambada,” released in 1989, became a global sensation, reaching the top of charts in numerous countries and becoming one of the best-selling singles of all time. The success of the song helped Kaoma achieve widespread recognition, but they struggled to replicate the same level of success with subsequent releases.
