The Rave-Ups were an American alternative rock band that emerged in the 1980s. Hailing from Los Angeles, the group was fronted by singer-songwriter Jimmer Podrasky, who brought a distinct voice and raw authenticity to their music. The Rave-Ups’ sound was a captivating blend of rock, folk, and Americana, infused with clever lyrics and infectious energy. Their breakthrough came with the inclusion of their song “Positively Lost Me” in the 1985 film “Pretty in Pink,” which garnered them significant attention and a growing fanbase.
