Tribe After Tribe is a South African alternative rock band founded by singer-songwriter Robbi Robb. Emerging in the 1980s, the band blended rock, post-punk, and elements of traditional African music, creating a unique and socially conscious sound. Robbi Robb’s ethereal vocals and the band’s eclectic instrumentation set Tribe After Tribe apart. Their music often explored themes of identity, spirituality, and the socio-political landscape of South Africa. Tribe After Tribe gained recognition for their powerful live performances and contributed to the global awareness of South African music during the apartheid era.
