Description
This lot is a divided back international postcard. The front has embroidered flowers and a four-leaf clover on silk to form a pocket. The pocket contains a lace-edged silk handkerchief. The postcard was sent by John Hohnberg, a soldier in France with the American Expeditionary Forces at the end of WWI. The return address indicates he was assigned to Battery B of the Artillery Anti-Aircraft Protection Corp. The postcard is written to his sister, Myrtle Hohnberg, in Duluth, Minnesota. He informs her that he is well and that they will sail soon, presumably coming home.
