1938 Hellzapoppin Broadway Program Olsen & Johnson Political Satire Art Deco VTG

Original 1938 Broadway theater program for Olsen and Johnson’s “Hellzapoppin,” a legendary musical revue known for its zany slapstick comedy, political satire, and breaking of the fourth wall. This program was issued for the original production at the 46th Street Theatre in New York.

The cast features vaudeville legends Olsen and Johnson, the Radio Rogues, Barto & Mann, the Charioteers (making their Broadway debut), Bettymae & Beverly Crane, Hal Sherman, Walter Nilsson, Ray Kinney and the Aloha Maids, and Theo Hardeen (brother of Houdini).

Includes detailed bios, caricatures, photo spreads, and original illustrations by Harold K. Simon. One internal cartoon page satirizes world politics with anti-Hitler imagery and media satire. Art Deco-style back cover.

Condition is excellent for its age with strong binding and vivid imagery. A rare and desirable collectible for Broadway, vaudeville, and vintage ephemera collectors.
