Original 1938 Broadway theatre program for Olsen and Johnson’s landmark revue “Hellzapoppin,” staged at the 46th Street Theatre in New York. This long-running musical comedy was known for its slapstick chaos, audience interaction, and political satire that skewered world leaders and media of the era. The cast included Olsen and Johnson, the Radio Rogues, Barto & Mann, the Charioteers, Bettymae & Beverly Crane, Hal Sherman, Walter Nilsson, Ray Kinney and the Aloha Maids, and Theo Hardeen (Houdini’s brother). Features caricatures and photo spreads illustrated by Harold K. Simon, with a notable cartoon lampooning Hitler and other political figures. Art Deco-style back cover and vivid original printing.
