He gained national recognition in the 1920s with his hit song “It Ain’t Gonna Rain No More,” which he recorded on the ukulele. He went on to record and perform many other popular songs of the era, such as “Blue Ridge Mountain Blues,” “Red Hot Henry Brown,” and “I’m Tired of Everything But You.” Hall was also a prolific songwriter, composing many of his own songs and collaborating with other writers and performers of the time. He continued to perform and record music throughout his life and was inducted into the Ukulele Hall of Fame in 2004.
