Description

“I Don’t Think So” is a popular sheet music song written by Wendell Hall, an American singer and songwriter, in 1925. The song features a catchy melody and humorous lyrics that poke fun at the idea of getting married. The lyrics describe a man who is hesitant to tie the knot with his girlfriend, citing reasons such as financial insecurity and fear of losing his freedom. The song was a hit during its time and was covered by several artists, including Gene Austin and Johnny Marvin. It has since become a classic of the Tin Pan Alley era.

Wendell Hall (1896-1969) was an American singer, songwriter, and ukulele player, known for his contributions to the popular music of the early 20th century. Born in St. George, Kansas, Hall started his career as a vaudeville performer, playing in various theaters across the United States. He gained national recognition in the 1920s with his hit song “It Ain’t Gonna Rain No More,” which he recorded on the ukulele. He went on to record and perform many other popular songs of the era, such as “Blue Ridge Mountain Blues,” “Red Hot Henry Brown,” and “I’m Tired of Everything But You.” Hall was also a prolific songwriter, composing many of his own songs and collaborating with other writers and performers of the time. He continued to perform and record music throughout his life and was inducted into the Ukulele Hall of Fame in 2004.
