This necklace dates to the c.1950s–1970s and was artisan-made in Guadalajara, Mexico. It features a large 1.5 by 1 inch oval abalone shell cabochon bezel set in sterling silver with ornate scrollwork framing. The pendant measures 2.5 inches tall by 1.75 inches wide and is suspended from a handmade 24 inch sterling silver chain with hook clasp. The reverse bears a triangular maker’s mark reading HECHO EN MEXICO R.L. 925 GUADALAJARA together with an eagle assay stamp confirming sterling purity. The total necklace weight is 34 grams including the abalone.
