This Italian Republic long-service medal was awarded for extended navigation service, circa 1950s. It bears on the obverse an allegorical standing figure holding a laurel branch, shield at her side and stylised ships at sea, with the legend “REPUBBLICA ITALIANA”. The reverse features a globe grid, anchor motif, laurel wreath and a scroll inscribed “MEDAGLIA D’ONORE PER LUNGA NAVIGAZIONE COMPIUTA”. The medal is bronze in tone and is suspended from a ribbon 37 mm wide in blue with a central white stripe, attached via a two-leg swing mount.
