This item is an Italian Medaglia di Benemerenza per i Volontari della Guerra 1915-1918 c.1923, awarded by the Kingdom of Italy to military volunteers. The bronze medalet features the obverse inscription “PER L’ITALIA” with a helmeted Italia figure, and the reverse with “VOLONTARI DI GVERRA MCMXV-MCMXVIII”. It is suspended on its original red ribbon with narrow green and white stripes at each side.
