This c.1920 Italian campaign medal commemorates service in the First World War 1915-1918 under the Kingdom of Italy. Awarded by Royal Decree to Italian and allied military personnel, it features the helmeted bust of King Victor Emmanuel III on the obverse surrounded by “GVERRA PER L’VNITA D’ITALIA 1915-1918”, and on the reverse the winged Victory borne aloft by two soldiers with the inscription “CONIATA NEL BRONZO NEMICO”. The bronze medal measures approx. 33mm diameter and is suspended from its original red-white-green striped ribbon (somewhat faded), ribbon width approx. 38 mm. Total height including ribbon is approx. 102 mm. This is an un‐named issue (no recipient name or serial) and is the standard issued variant without additional campaign bars.
