Axel Schulz is a retired German professional boxer, renowned for his achievements in the heavyweight division during the 1990s. Born on November 9, 1968, Schulz began his career in East Germany and rose to prominence after the reunification of Germany. He gained international recognition for his strong performances against top-tier opponents, including a controversial split-decision loss to George Foreman in 1995 for the IBF heavyweight title, a bout many believed Schulz had won. Despite never capturing a world title, Schulz was known for his resilience, technical skill, and sportsmanship.
