This lot is a copy of Conkey’s One-To-Fill Theatrical Information Guide published 1923. The book is the premiere edition of a theatrical publication designed to assist theater managers in booking acts to fill open dates in their schedules. Produced by Billboard magazine, the book provided detailed information on various traveling acts, including jugglers, comedians, vocalists, and specialty performers. It also included practical information on railway fares, booking rates, salaries, artist agencies, and travel maps. Perhaps most interesting, the book is filled with classic advertisements for performing artists of the day such as Blackstone the Magician (See photos), Lester the Ventriloquist, Will Stanton (America’s Premier Souse), the Arleys (Acrobats), and Little Pipifax (Vaudeville’s Funniest Clown).
The book is 8.5″ tall by 5.5″ wide and has 112 pages.
