Lou Groza, born on January 25, 1924, was a highly versatile and accomplished professional football player. Known as “The Toe,” Groza spent his entire 21-year career with the Cleveland Browns in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) and later the National Football League (NFL). He played as an offensive tackle and placekicker, earning a reputation for his exceptional skills in both positions. Groza’s size, strength, and agility made him a dominant force on the offensive line, while his accurate kicking made him one of the most reliable kickers of his time. He played a crucial role in the Browns’ success, helping the team win four AAFC championships and four NFL championships. Groza was a nine-time Pro Bowl selection and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1974.
