Prev Next

The 1960 World Series is widely regarded as one of the most thrilling and memorable in the sport’s history. It featured the New York Yankees, winners of the American League, and the Pittsburgh Pirates, champions of the National League. The series went the full seven games, showcasing dramatic moments and high-scoring contests. The key highlight of the series came in Game 7, where the Pirates, led by a strong performance from Bill Mazeroski, hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to secure a 10-9 victory and clinch the championship. Mazeroski’s home run remains the only walk-off homer to end a Game 7 in World Series history.
