Carl Erskine, born on December 13, 1926, was a highly regarded Major League Baseball pitcher who spent his entire career with the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers. Erskine was known for his exceptional control and pitching finesse, which made him a valued member of the Dodgers’ pitching staff during the 1950s. He played a pivotal role in the team’s success, contributing to their World Series championships in 1955 and 1959. Erskine’s signature performance came on May 12, 1956, when he pitched a no-hitter against the New York Giants.
