Charlie Conerly, born on September 19, 1921, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, was a professional football player who had a successful career as a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). Conerly played his entire career for the New York Giants from 1948 to 1961. He was known for his strong arm, accuracy, and leadership on the field. Conerly was a key figure in leading the Giants to three NFL Championship appearances and one title in 1956. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 1959.
