Don Mattingly, born on April 20, 1961, in Evansville, Indiana, is a former professional baseball player and current manager. Mattingly spent his entire 14-year career with the New York Yankees from 1982 to 1995. Known as “Donnie Baseball,” he was a fan favorite and one of the most respected players of his era. Mattingly was a highly skilled first baseman, renowned for his exceptional fielding ability, smooth swing, and consistent hitting. He won the American League MVP award in 1985, batting an impressive .324 with 35 home runs and 145 RBIs. Mattingly was a six-time All-Star and won nine Gold Glove awards.
