Gene Woodling, born on August 16, 1922, in Akron, Ohio, was a talented professional baseball player known for his consistent hitting and excellent defensive skills. Woodling played as an outfielder in the Major Leagues from 1943 to 1962. He had a long and successful career, playing for several teams, most notably the New York Yankees. Woodling was known for his ability to get on base and his knack for timely hitting. He had a smooth left-handed swing and displayed exceptional plate discipline. Defensively, Woodling was known for his reliable glove and accurate throwing arm.
