Johnny Bench is an American former professional baseball player who is widely regarded as one of the greatest catchers in the history of Major League Baseball (MLB). Born in 1947, Bench spent his entire 17-year career with the Cincinnati Reds. Known for his exceptional defensive skills, powerful arm, and ability to handle pitchers, Bench revolutionized the catcher position. He was a key component of the Reds’ success in the 1970s, winning two World Series championships in 1975 and 1976. Bench’s offensive prowess was equally impressive, as he hit over 300 home runs and amassed over 2,000 career hits. Throughout his career, he earned numerous accolades, including 10 Gold Glove Awards and two National League Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards. Bench was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989. This lot is a Johnny Bench All-Star baseball card #260 produced by Topps in 1975. If the title includes a reference to condition, it is based on the same standards of grading as the professional grading companies. If the condition is shown as a range, we are saying that, in our opinion, the card would receive a grade somewhere within that range.
This card has wear appropriate to its age. The front is in excellent condition while the back has some light staining. May have corner bumps, edge wear, scuffs, stains, scratches, or smudges. Please review the included photos of the actual item to make a complete determination of its condition.
