Luis Aparicio is a former Venezuelan professional baseball player who played as a shortstop in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1956 to 1973. He is widely regarded as one of the best defensive shortstops in the history of the game, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984. Aparicio played for several teams during his career, including the Chicago White Sox, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Boston Red Sox. He was a 13-time All-Star, a nine-time Gold Glove Award winner, and led the American League in stolen bases nine times.
