Richard “Night Train” Lane, born on April 16, 1928, in Austin, Texas, was a professional football player who played as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) during the 1950s and 1960s. Lane is widely regarded as one of the most dominant defensive players in NFL history. Known for his exceptional speed, agility, and ball-hawking abilities, Lane was a feared and respected presence on the field. He had a remarkable knack for intercepting passes, setting the NFL single-season record with 14 interceptions in his rookie year with the Los Angeles Rams in 1952. This lot is a Richard “Night Train” Lane rookie football card #85 produced by Topps in 1957. If the title includes a reference to condition, it is based on the same standards of grading as the professional grading companies. If the condition is shown as a range, we are saying that, in our opinion, the card would receive a grade somewhere within that range. Â
This card has wear appropriate to its age. Pretty well centered with no creases. May have corner bumps, edge wear, scuffs, stains, smudges, scratches, or dirt. Please review the included photos of the actual item to make a complete determination of its condition.
