Roy Campanella, born on November 19, 1921, was a trailblazing Major League Baseball catcher who overcame significant challenges to become one of the game’s all-time greats. Campanella played his entire career with the Brooklyn Dodgers, making his debut in 1948. Known for his exceptional defensive skills and powerful hitting, he played a pivotal role in the success of the Dodgers during their “Boys of Summer” era. Campanella won the National League Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award three times (1951, 1953, 1955), becoming the first catcher to achieve such a feat. He was posthumously inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969.
This lot is a Roy Campanella baseball card #480 produced by Topps in 1961.
If the title includes a reference to condition, it is based on the same standards of grading as the professional grading companies. If the condition is shown as a range, we are saying that, in our opinion, the card would receive a grade somewhere within that range.
This vintage card has wear appropriate to its age. It has a few surface issues. May have scuffs, edge wear, bumped corners, light stains, or may be off-center. Please review the included photos of the actual items to make a complete determination of their condition.
