Nicknamed “The Chairman of the Board,” Ford was a master of control and finesse on the mound. He had a remarkable ability to change speeds and hit his spots with precision, making him one of the most dominant pitchers of his era. Ford played a pivotal role in the Yankees’ success during the 1950s and 1960s, helping the team win six World Series championships. He was known for his clutch performances in the postseason, earning the record for most wins and strikeouts in World Series history. Ford was a ten-time All-Star, and in 1974, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
