1908 Bernard Carmen Super-Human Equilibrist Vaudeville Performer Letterhead
Prev Next

This lot is a 1908 letter from a woman named Eliza who appears to be a vaudeville actor. The letter was written from Cincinnati, Ohio to a friend, also in Cincinnati and also a performer. Eliza asks her friend if she’s heard anything about burlesque work and tells her of plans to travel to New York with her partner, Hilda. The handwritten letter is approximately 11″ tall and 8.5″ wide.

The letter is written on Bernard Carmen: Super-Human Equilibrist letterhead which would support the hypothesis that Eliza was working with Bernard Carmen. Searches of his name don’t product much information, and the letterhead is very scarce.
