This lot is an original vintage luggage label from the Peninsular and Oriental Steamship Navigation Company (P&O). The label is from the early 1900s and is unused. It would have been applied to luggage going from London, England to Colombo, Sri Lanka. The passenger’s name was printed in the box. Some long journey’s to different hemispheres required passengers to take clothing for multiply climates. Extra trunks of clothing would be stored below decks until needed.

The label is approximately 4.25″ tall by 7″ wide. The “X” across the label is part of the original printing.
