1970s Friendly Restaurant Dinner Menu Fribble Friend-Z Jim Dandy Ice Cream Chain
Prev Next

This lot is a printed 1970s restaurant menu from the Friendly Restaurant chain which had locations throughout the northeast part of the United States. Notice that the name of the restaurant is “Friendly” rather than “Friendly’s”. The addition of “‘s” to the name didn’t occur until 1989. This six-panel menu is printed on glossy card stock and is quite scarce. It is approximately 11″ tall by 7.25″ wide.

Friendly’s was founded in 1935 by brothers Curtis and S. Prestley Blake in Springfield, Massachusetts. The original Friendly’s was an ice cream shop that served double-dip cones for just 5 cents during the Great Depression. The shop was named “Friendly” to evoke the warm, welcoming atmosphere the brothers wanted to create.

All our items are kept in a smoke-free and pet-free environment.

This vintage menu is in very good condition. It has no tears or creases and limited signs of wear. Please review the included photos of the actual item to make a complete determination of its condition.
