Prev Next

In 1991, the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), led by the visionary Jeff Lynne, embarked on a groundbreaking tour with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, marking a historic fusion of rock and classical music. The tour aimed to celebrate ELO’s extensive repertoire by reimagining their classic hits with the grandeur of a full symphony orchestra. The collaboration with the Moscow Symphony added a new dimension to ELO’s already lush and elaborate sound. The tour’s pinnacle moment was the performance in Moscow’s Gorky Park, a symbolically significant event as it occurred during a period of political and cultural transformation in Russia. The concert showcased the universal appeal of ELO’s music and the power of music to transcend borders.
