This lot is an incredibly beautiful classic gold-tone bird of paradise brooch pin. The brooch was produced in the 1980s by the D’Orlan Boucher company. It is exquisitely large and eye-catching. It measures approximately 6.25″ tall by 3.5″ wide.

Its feathers are brilliantly enameled in transparent yellow, orange, green and blue with its crowning headdress feathers enameled in red. All these transparent enamels allow the light to pass through and reflect off the gold-tone feather designs below the enamel.

A sparkling green rhinestone forms the eye. Twelve clear rhinestones form the flowers around the perch with 13 smaller clear rhinestones applied to the neck. All the rhinestones are glued and none are dead.
