Anita Ekberg (1931–2015) was a Swedish actress and model, best known for her role as Sylvia in Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita (1960), which became iconic for the famous scene of her bathing in Rome’s Trevi Fountain. Ekberg was celebrated for her beauty and her voluptuous figure, which helped establish her as a sex symbol of the 1950s and 1960s. Though she appeared in many films during her career, La Dolce Vita remained her most famous role, solidifying her place in cinematic history.
