Babble was a British alternative rock and world music band formed in 1993. The band consisted of three members: Tom Bailey, Alannah Currie, and Keith Fernley—all former members of the successful ’80s synth-pop group Thompson Twins. Babble’s music was characterized by a fusion of electronic sounds, world music influences, and ethereal vocals. Their debut album, “The Stone,” released in 1994, showcased a departure from the synth-pop sound of Thompson Twins. Instead, Babble delved into a more experimental and diverse sonic landscape, incorporating elements of ambient, tribal, and dance music. While Babble did not achieve the same level of commercial success as Thompson Twins, their unique approach to music garnered critical acclaim for its innovation and artistic depth.
