The Divinyls were an Australian rock band formed in the early 1980s. Fronted by the charismatic singer Chrissy Amphlett and guitarist Mark McEntee, the band gained international recognition for their edgy and provocative music. Their biggest hit, “I Touch Myself,” released in 1990, remains an iconic anthem of its era. The Divinyls were known for their energetic live performances and a sound that blended elements of rock, new wave, and pop. Chrissy Amphlett’s powerful vocals and stage presence were a defining feature of the band.
