George Howard was a highly talented and influential American smooth jazz saxophonist, songwriter, and producer who made a significant impact on the contemporary jazz scene in the 1980s and early 1990s. Born on September 15, 1956, Howard’s smooth and soulful saxophone playing captivated audiences, earning him a reputation as one of the genre’s most notable figures. His melodic compositions and soulful performances contributed to the popularization of smooth jazz, and albums like “A Nice Place to Be” and “Love Will Follow” showcased his musical prowess. In addition to his solo career, George Howard collaborated with various artists and lent his skills to numerous projects. Sadly, George Howard’s life was cut short when he passed away on March 20, 1998.
