Gerald Alston is an American R&B and soul singer who was born in 1951 in North Carolina. He is best known as the lead singer of the legendary vocal group The Manhattans, which he joined in 1970. Alston’s powerful and soulful voice helped the group achieve widespread success with hits such as “Kiss and Say Goodbye” and “Shining Star.” In addition to his work with The Manhattans, Alston has also released several solo albums, including his self-titled debut in 1988. He is highly regarded for his smooth and emotive vocal delivery and is considered one of the most distinctive voices in R&B music. The photo is from the 1980s-90s and is approximately 8″x10″.
