Highway 101 was a country music band that emerged in the 1980s and played a significant role in the country music landscape. Formed in Los Angeles in 1986, the original lineup included Paulette Carlson (vocals), Jack Daniels (guitar), Curtis Stone (bass), and Cactus Moser (drums). Their self-titled debut album in 1987 produced hits like “The Bed You Made for Me.” Carlson’s distinctive vocals and the band’s traditional yet contemporary sound contributed to their success. After Carlson’s departure in 1990, Nikki Nelson took over as the lead vocalist. Highway 101 continued to release albums and charting songs, with notable hits such as “Who’s Lonely Now.” Despite lineup changes, the band maintained its reputation for delivering quality country music until they disbanded in the mid-’90s.
