Jack Hardy (1947-2011) was an American folk singer-songwriter and influential figure in the New York City folk music scene. Born in Indiana, Hardy moved to Greenwich Village in the 1970s, where he became a central figure in the city’s folk revival. He was not only a talented musician and songwriter but also a mentor and promoter of other emerging folk artists. Jack Hardy’s music is characterized by his thoughtful lyrics, poetic storytelling, and a deep connection to folk traditions.
