Lawnmower Deth, formed in Ravenshead, England, in 1987, was a tongue-in-cheek thrash metal band that emerged during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Known for their humorous and satirical approach to both their music and image, Lawnmower Deth blended thrash metal intensity with comedic lyrics and absurd stage antics. Their debut album, “Ooh Crikey, It’s… Lawnmower Deth,” released in 1990, encapsulated their irreverent style. The band achieved some notoriety with their cover of Kim Wilde’s “Kids in America,” which featured guest appearances from members of Metallica and other prominent metal musicians. Despite not achieving widespread commercial success, Lawnmower Deth gained a cult following for their entertaining and lighthearted take on the thrash metal genre.
